Kelly Marie Johnson is a watercolor painter who explores the forms of the natural world with an approach of curiosity and wonder. Her work focuses on florals, landscapes, and space themes, delving into the vastness that each has to offer, and rendering them in a mix of abstraction and realism. She aims to capture the ephemeral beauty of nature, and to find meaning and solace in the rhythms of birth, death, and rebirth.
Kelly is a resident of Kansas City, MO and lives with her partner and son in Waldo. She has participated in many group and solo shows across the United States, and teaches watercolor from her home and online. When she's not painting (which is almost never!), she enjoys playing tic-tac-toe with her 6 year old son and drooling over photos of bunnies.
